News: Onome Obruthe (Gospel Force) talks about "ON THE ROCK CONCERT" 2017

Gospel Force's most recent member, Onome Obruthe, talks about "On The Rock Concert" 2017. He also explains his relationship with the band and what it has been like since he became a member. Hardly do we find men like Onome Obruthe doing Rock Music, even with his personality, his engagement in Gospel Force's ministry cannot be overlooked. He sheds more light in this topic in the little interview we had with him recently.

Can we know you briefly?
My names are Obruthe Onome.

How did you come to know the band and what inspired you to join them?
I anchored a gospel concert organized by Godswill Otuonye at RCCG King's Court, Victoria Island, in 2016 and they ministered. After the concert I asked Godswill whom they were and that I wanted to speak to their leader, he sent me Sultan's number and the rest is left for Sultan to explain.

Can you please describe their reception?
They accepted me and cautioned that since I am way older when we minister I should jump less.

What do you really do in the band?
I sing and pray

Since you joined, what has been the relationship status so far?
Very cordial

Well, we know that you were the MC for On The Rock Concert last year and what can you say about it?
The proposed MC didn't come so I was asked to fill the void, seeing elders and youths do praise in the sky was amazing.

What should we expect at this year's concert?
Healing whilst we sing and God's name being glorified, remember when his praises go up he gives us his blessings.

Rock Music, especially Christian Rock music is having a massive wave in the industry, what do you think Gospel Force has to offer?
As pioneers and one of the best, if not the best Rock Gospel band in Nigeria, I believe souls leaving the kingdom of darkness of drugs, nudity, back bitting and blood guiltiness can be expelled with our songs, we actually have one of our songs titled Drugs, be on the look out.

Teaser: What would you consider best to do in a world of silence?
I can't be silent except am dead sir

And finally, who inspires you in the band, looking at the role of everyone?
Olayinka Bada, he's the youngest and biggest critic, he's older than his age.
